2012 Engine Pro ASCS S.O.D Presented by ARP Schedule Unveiled

The 33rd season of sprint car racing will begin at Crystal Motor Speedway on April 28 for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP series.

Tulsa, Oklahoma (February 8, 2012)-The 33rd season of sprint car racing will begin at Crystal Motor Speedway on April 28 for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP series.

An incredible variety of events are on the calendar at speedways in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Ontario. A total of 22 races are currently on the schedule and the very special three day Canadian Sprint Car Nationals among the much anticipated 2012 calendar.

Highlights for the 2012 season include the debut of an exciting new event at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth Indiana. This long time asphalt 3/8 mile oval is constructing a racy ¼ mile oval inside the asphalt track will host the series on Saturday June 16.

Advance tickets are available for this event being labeled the “Engine Pro Battle at the Bullring Presented by Hastings Manufacturing, MAHLE/Clevite and Melling Engine Parts”.

The return of the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP northern swing will be held on June 29 & 30. The first stop is at the exciting Mt. Pleasant Speedway and then the stars of the Sprints on Dirt will head further north to Rick Ancel’s Merritt Raceway for the return of the winged warriors after several year’s absence.

The King of Michigan race September 7 at Hartford Motor Speedway always brings out the best racers in the Midwest; Hartford also hosts the series on June 1. The series will make return visits to Ohio tracks; Limaland Motorsports Park, Eldora Speedway, and Waynesfield Raceway Park twice, which includes the inaugural Bob Reynolds Memorial race paying $6,000 to win and $600 to start on July 3 to support the NRA racing series. The series will compete at a total of 16 different race tracks during the 2012 championship chase.

Long time supporting tracks of the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP returning for 2012 include Cherry Raceway, Owendale Speedway and the Winston Speedway.

Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal MI hosts three events in 2012 and holds the honors of being the only track in the country to host an event every year in the 33 year history of the winged sprint series. To commemorate this great support, the series is excited to announce a special event on Saturday July 21 with the inaugural 33rd Sprints on Dirt Anniversary race. This event will pay $2,033 to win, $300 to start and have a special 33 lap length feature.

The National Racing Alliance Series has agreed to co-sanction this event making its return to Michigan after several years’ absence. Two visits to Owendale Speedway and three to 2011 Sprints on Dirt track of the year Cherry Raceway will be popular stops as well.

Two tracks will be hosting their first shows in 2012. The first is the Tri City Motor Speedway located near Auburn, Michigan on August 3 and the second is at Palo, MI Mid-Michigan Raceway Park on Friday Sept 28 to be a part of Gene Hendrickson’s Corn Harvest races. This event will be sponsored by Miles Petroleum as well as the visits to Winston and Mt. Pleasant.

The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP will again support the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals at Oshweken Speedway September 13-15.

The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP series sanctions winged Sprint Car races at speedways throughout Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and the Canadian province of Ontario and will enjoy its 33rd season of operation. The 2012 schedule can be viewed at www.sprintsondirt.com.

Dustin Daggett is the reigning champion of the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP. Daggett has three championships to his credit (2011, 2004, and 2003) to go along with 71 feature wins.

The 2012 season marks the 21st year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, which brings the best of Sprint Car racing to dozens of different tracks throughout the nation and into Canada.
