Schroeder Takes ASCS SOD/NRA Battle at Eldora

From Mike Strevel

ROSSBURG, Ohio (May 29, 2011) – With an incredible field of 41 winged Sprint Cars checked into the Eldora Raceway pit area Sunday night it would be quite a feat for whichever driver captured the honors and Ohio racer Butch Schroder was the one able to snare the victory.

Dustin Daggett and Randy Hannagan led the 20-car field to the green flag on the warm Memorial Day Sunday night. Schroeder starting third took the lead by the end of the first turn of the feature and was not to be denied. The feature was only slowed by one small caution flag and was completed in less than fifteen minutes.

The top five finishers in the NRA/ Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Series feature were Schroeder, Kyle Sauder, Hannagan, JR Stewart and Ron Blair.

Heat victors were Sauder, Todd Heurrman, Hannagan and Blair. B main victors were Sheldon Haudenschild and Luke Hall.

ASCS Sprints on Dirt Rained Out at Waynesfield

After a great field of 42 ASCS Sprints on Dirt/NRA sprint cars took hot laps, the rains came and ended any chance of racing at Waynesfield Raceway Park Saturday.

ASCS Sprints on Dirt Rained Out at Limaland

LIMA, Ohio (May 26, 2011) – Heavy rain showers over the latter part of the week have forced the cancellation of Friday night’s scheduled Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP event at Limaland Motorsports Park.

The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt still moves on to Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, OH, on Saturday and then finishes out the Memorial Day weekend at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, OH, on Sunday.

Additional information regarding the American Sprint Car Series is available at www.ascsracing.com.

Points for the Co-Sanctioned Weekend

Just a note to Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP competitors for the upcoming co-sanctioned weekend.

Points in this weekend’s events in the same manner that has been done over the past several years. Only ASCS SOD members or drivers that have competed in previous SOD events this season will receive points. Meaning, the top finishing SOD driver will be awarded 150 points, the second highest 142 and so on regardless of finishing position. For example, if only four SOD drivers make the “A” Main, the first non-quaifying SOD driver receives 5th place points (125) and so on.

A driver must take the green flag in his/her “B” Main to receive feature points. Not taking the green flag will result in 65 points. If no green flag is taken at all during the night, 50 points.
