Rossburg, Oh – (May 24, 2015) – Dustin Daggett wowed the fans with a totally dominating performance on the high banks of Eldora Speedway Sunday night during the SOD/NRA portion of the “Johnny Appleseed Classic”. Daggett started 4th and immediately shot out front using the high side of the half mile oval.

While there was other racing taking place, Daggett was mainly using the high side of track putting distance between himself and Kyle Sauder early on. As he encountered lapped traffic, he managed to pick his way around cars.

Randy Hannagan passed Sauder for 2nd before the half way point of the twenty lap event and was being chased by Sauder, Dustin Stroup and Ron Blair. As the feature was nearing conclusion, Daggett continued to weave through traffic but still had to be patient at times.

Late in the race Daggett had lapped up to 8th place and amassed a nine second advantage over Hannagan. As the white flag appeared Daggett made his way through more heavy traffic and crossed the line ahead of Hannagan, Sauder, Stroup and Ron Blair.

In victory lane Daggett cited having a bit of a rough weekend but thanked everyone on his crew, He also said “when you know Randy (Hannagan) is back there, you can’t let up.

Waynesfield, Oh – (May 23, 2015) – Randy Hannagan made a late race pass and held on to take the 25 lap “Memorial Classic” at Waynesfield Raceway Park contested by the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders and the Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP on Saturday night.

Dustin Daggett started on the pole with Hannagan beside and at the drop of the green Daggett got the jump and took command with Hannagan falling back some but keeping Daggett in his sights.

Daggett maintained his advantage for several laps and then encountered lapped traffic with Hannagan closing some but Daggett held fast. Now the 33m of Caleb Griffith was making up ground and by lap 15 racing had intensified with Daggett leading Hannagan, Griffith and Max Stambaugh.

As lap 18 approached, Hannagan had caught Daggett and duo were side by side. Hannangan made the pass stick the next time around with Daggett still on Hannagan’s bumper. Now Griffith had really joined the fray and was a close third as laps were winding down quickly.

As the white flag flew Daggett made a last ditch effort and pulled even with Hannagan but lost some momentum with Griffith and Stambaugh slipping past. At the stripe it was Hannagan, Griffith, Stambaugh, Daggett and Kyle Sauder.

Heats for the 28 cars on hand were won by Hannagan, Daggett and Rod Henning. The B main went to Gregg Dalman.
The three day weekend for the stars of SOD and NRA concludes at Eldora Speedway tomorrow night.

“Mad Max” Stambaugh Captures Limaland Loot

By Bob Buffenbarger
Lima,Oh – (May 22, 2015) – “Mad Max” Stambaugh chased down Randy Hannagan and won the 25 lap “Memorial Cup” feature for SOD/NRA Sprint cars at Limaland Motorsports Park Friday night in front of a big crowd.
Mike Dunlap and Shawn Dancer would start on the front row of the $2,000 to win event but Randy Hannagan charged from 4th and led the initial circuit. Lap two saw Dunlap bring out the yellow after spinning in turn two.

As the green flew again, Hannagan looked to be the car to beat as he was quickly stretching his lead with 3rd starting Max Stambaugh falling into the runner up spot with Jared Horstman, Dancer and 11th starting Dustin Daggett moving through the field.

Yellow once again appeared for the 11R of Chase Ridenour in turn two on lap four. As racing resumed, laps five through ten found Hannagan, Stambaugh, Horstman, Dancer and Daggett the top five but Devon Dobie was on the move and took 5th on lap twelve.

As the leaders maneuvered through traffic, Stambaugh began reeling in Hannagan and made the pass for the lead on lap seventeen. The #22 of Hannagan pulled even multiple times in the ensuing laps but Stambaugh began to pull away by lap twenty.

As laps were winding down, J.R. Stewart was making a run and got around Dobie. At the checkers it was Stambaugh, Hannagan, Horstman, Stewart and Dobie.

Four heat races were contested for the 31 cars on hand, with Kyle Pitts, Jared Horstman, Randy Hannagan and Max Stambaugh winners. Tim Allison and Ron Blair won the two B mains.
