Auburn, MI – (June 5, 2015) – Ryan Ruhl won a thrilling Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP feature Friday night at the Tri-City Motor Speedway. Ruhl ran down early leader Gregg Dalman and then swapped the lead back and forth with Dustin Daggett before motoring away the final half of the event. The win was Ruhl’s third SOD victory of the 2015 season.

Mark Aldrich and Dalman started on the front row for the 25-lap feature with Dalman taking the lead. Ruhl quickly moved up sixth starting spot to take the lead from Dalman on lap seven. Soon though Ruhl was under siege from Daggett in pursuit of his 100th SOD feature victory. Daggett took the lead on lap 11, but Ruhl fought back one lap later to take the top spot back by inches just as a caution appeared for debris.

Following the caution Ruhl pulled away for the victory over Daggett, Dalman, Kyle Pitts, and Chase Ridenour. Heat races were won by Daggett, Aldrich, and Ruhl. During the second heat race Robert Huisken had his 2015 season get off to a rough start turning over hard. Huisken was uninjured.

The Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP series will visit two different states for a doubleheader this weekend.

Friday, June 5th, is the first of two events scheduled this season at Steve Puvalowski’s Tri-City Motor Speedway.  The racy 3/8 mile track in Auburn, Michigan has seen a number of different drivers take the checkered flags over the past few years including Dustin Daggett, Gregg Dalman, Ryan Grubaugh, Dain Naida and Tony Stewart.  The Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP drivers will also compete in the “Beat the Track Record” qualifying session.  The current Sprints on Dirt track record is 11.136 seconds, average 114.4 MPH, which was set on 5/17/2013 by Steve Irwin.

On Saturday, June 6th, the Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP will head south to do battle with the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders at Montpelier Speedway.  The co-sanctioned Border War 2 event will feature a truly epic battle drawing Ohio’s and Michigan’s finest winged sprint car drivers to the Indiana ¼ mile bullring.  The 2014 Border War saw Ohio outlaw, Greg Wilson, picking up the feature win from the 12th start position.

The 36th season of competition for the winged sprint car series has started out strong in 2015 with five different drivers picking up wins in six completed events to-date.  For more information, please go to the official series website, www.sprintsondirt.com.
