Hannagan Wins Second ASCS Sprints On Dirt Feature of the Tripleheader at Eldora!

T.J. Buffenbarger/Cody Morris

New Weston, Ohio (May 27, 2012) – Randy Hannagan won his second
feature during Memorial Day weekend Sunday at Eldora Speedway during a
co-sanctioned event with the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented
by ARP and the National Racing Alliance Sprint Invaders. Hannagan
held off multiple challenges from Shane Stewart on his way to victory.

“This Dennis Yoakam, Fisher powered Maxim Chassis was really running,”
said Hannagan. “The car was flawless; anyone could have driven this
thing. Everybody on this team is unbelievable.”

After calling off the first start Hannagan drove into the lead.
Behind him Jim Nier, Butch Schroeder, and Shane Stewart battled for
the second spot. Stewart used a slide job to clear both Schroder and
Nier to move into second in turns three and four. By lap six Hannagan
approached slower traffic with Stewart quickly closing the gap.

While going through traffic Stewart tapped the wall in turn two and
allowed Hannagan to open up some ground. Stewart closed the ground on
lap eight and attempted a side job on Hannagan, but Hannagan held onto
the lead. Stewart lost a lot of momentum with the passing attempt and
allowed Hannagan to open up a lead he would never relinquish, driving
around slower cars to the checkered flag. Stewart held onto second
while Nier, Schroder, and Long rounded out the top five.

Stewart was the fastest driver during group qualifications and won his
heat race event. Schroeder, Luke Hall, and Neir also won heat race
events. Jared Horstman and Ryan Ruhl won the twin “B” Features.
The next event for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by
ARP series is Friday June 8th at Hartford Motor Speedway in Hartford,
Michigan followed by a special Saturday engagement at Cherry Speedway
in Fife, Lake, Michigan.

Hannagan Wins at Eldora

By T.J. Buffenbarger

New Weston, OH – (May 27, 2012) – Randy Hannagan won his second feature during Memorial Day weekend Sunday at Eldora Speedway during a co-sanctioned event with the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP and the National Racing Alliance Sprint Invaders. Hannagan held off multiple challenges from Shane Stewart on his way to victory.

Horstman Hauls in SOD Win at Waynesfield!

Bob Buffenbarger/Cody Morris

Waynesfield, Ohio (5-26-2012) – Jared Horstman charged from his 4th place starting position to claim the 2nd night of the three day Memorial Day weekend Ohio swing for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP/NRA at Waynesfield Raceway Park Saturday.

Randy Hannagan started on the pole and looked to be the favorite after winning his heat race tonight and the feature the previous night at Limaland. Early on, Hannagan had his hands full with Horstman, Tim Allison and Ron Blair all swarming around Hannagan. Lap 7 saw Horstman blast around Hannagan but Hannagan would re-take the top spot and held it until the 12th circuit when Horstman once again went to the front.

By then 10th starting Shane Stewart had taken over third place and on the 16th lap Stewart got around Hannagan and was closing fast on Horstman. However the slick track seemed to suit Horstman’s style tonight as he was able to hold off Stewart, Tim Allison, Ron Blair and Hannagan and went on to take the checkers in the 25 lap non stop affair.

Post race inspection resulted in Tim Allison being DQ’ed due to fuel issues.

Hannagan Wins Opening Leg of ASCS Sprints On Dirt Tripleheader!

Bob Buffenbarger/Cody Morris

LIMA, OHIO (5/25/2012) Randy Hannagan opened the three day Memorial Day weekend Ohio swing for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP/NRA with an exciting win at Limaland Motorsports Park on a warm Friday night. Chasing Hannagan was Shane Stewart, Ben Rutan, Jared Horstman and Hud Horton.

At the drop of the green of the 25 lap main event, pole sitter Dallas Hewitt led the initial circuit with Hannagan (also on the front row) and Ben Rutan soon were engaged in a three wide slide job swapping affair with Hewitt maintaining the lead and Rutan taking 2nd early on.

Lap 8 saw Hannagan make his make move as he took the lead but Rutan was keeping the pressure on and bringing Shane Stewart aboard the 3G, along with him. Also, 14th starting Jared Horstman was charging through the field taking over 4th.

By the 15th circuit Hannagan was beginning to stretch his lead while Rutan and Stewart were still staging a duel for 2nd place with Horstman in pursuit. A caution with 4 laps remaining closed the field up but when the green waved, Hannagan was up to the task and took the checkers with Stewart and Rutan following.

The five heat races were captured by Kyle Sauder, Dennis Yoakam, Hud Horton, Shane Stewart and Luke Hall. Three B mains were required due to the large car count and they were won by Tim Allison, Darren Long and Dustin Daggett. The first B main saw Greg Wheeler take a hard flip in turn two. Wheeler was not hurt.
